Swimming: There are two pools in the village but better still there is a lovely little lake 3 miles away which has a supervised swimming area, the water is pleasantly warm and is safe for the children, there is a cafe and showers and changing facilities and its free to use.
Cycling: Take your own if you are an experience mountain biker or for a slightly more relaxing family ride, rent bikes from the village of Aime and you can cycle 14kms to Bourg St Maurice on a specially constructed cycle route following the glacial waters of the Isere river on your left. Take a picnic and stop at the lake above which is about half way to Bourg.
White Water Rafting: Try it you'll love it! There are plenty of Rafting companies in Aime and Bourg St Maurice. They will supply all the equipment, wet suits, life jacket helmet etc. Thrill your self and enjoy.
Parapenting: Launch yourself of the slopes and soar over the valley strapped to your instructor. We have not tried this yet but everyone we have spoken to says it is fantastic.
Walking: Take your own boots or hire them in the village. There are well marked walks starting from the village which will take you to some lovely areas. Guides are available from the tourist office.
Parcours Adventure: Got a taste for heights? Or test your yourself with this high ropes adventure. Clip on to the safety rope and climb, swing and tightrope your way through the wooded valley. Highlights include an Idiana Jones style rope bridge across the river and the grand finale with a 300m Zip wire that takes you across the torrents of the Isere below. Great Fun. |
