The Resort & Skiing - Paradiski - La Plagne

Paradiski Ski Area

La Plagne was one of the original ‘designed' ski areas. It is a vast area of over 200km of marked runs and made up of 10 satellite villages. The high Villages are made up of the sixties and seventies inspired Plagne Centre, Aime 2000 and Plagne Bellcotte. While the newer villages: Solie, Village and Belle Plagne have been built in more traditional low rise style.

Montalbert is one of the La Plagne villages, however it has grown from being a true village lived in year round by the locals. This gives it a charm and atmosphere not found in many ski resorts across France.

In 2003 Les Arcs and La Plagne were linked by a fantastic new cable car called the Vanoise express . This links the two areas together and provides in total more than 420km of pistes for you to enjoy. If you get the chance it is worth making the trip over and it adds to an exiting day out.

The ski range is from 1300 meters to over 3200 on the glaciers of Bellcote.

Ski lifts

The lift company has invested heavily in new chairs and high speed lifts and extensive snow making equipment and this makes skiing back into Montalbert guaranteed. In fact we were skiing back into the village at the end of April 2005!

Ski Levels

Beginners

For beginners the area is a great place to take your first turns. Montalbert's Ski School is across the road from the apartment and you will start your lessons on the gentle ‘green ‘ slope in the village. You will soon be taken up into the vast area of the La Plagne bowl and will enjoy the skiing with more experienced friends after just a few days.

Intermediates

La Plagne is known as an intermediates paradise. Plenty of blues and red slopes to either cruise or practice your short turns technique and clock up the km's under your skis.

Experts

OK what do you want? There are some great mogully reds, some serious long black runs and more off piste than you can shake a stick at!.

Hire a guide and you'll ski more untracked areas than some of the well known ‘expert' resorts.

Snow Boarding

Snow boarders are well catered for with a boarder cross and a half pipe located at Plagne Bellcotte.
